Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 2026
This Cookie Policy is a standalone document. For a broader overview of how we handle personal data, please read our Privacy Policy.
1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. Similar technologies — including browser local storage, session storage, and tracking pixels — work in related ways to store or read small pieces of data. This policy covers all of them collectively. Cookies allow a site to remember your preferences, measure how pages are used, and — where consent is given — to help us reach you through advertising.
2. Why We Use Cookies
We use cookies and related technologies to keep Leak No Meak running correctly, to remember your preferences within a session, and to understand in aggregate how visitors move through our games. Our analytics approach is deliberately lightweight — we favour anonymised traffic counts over detailed tracking.
3. Categories of Cookies We Use
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keep the site running — session handling, security, age-gate confirmation, consent preference storage. | __age_ok, __cc_v1 | Session to 12 months. No consent required. |
| Performance / analytics | Anonymous traffic measurement to understand which pages and games are most used. | Cloudflare Web Analytics (__cf_bm) | Up to 30 days. Set only with consent. |
| Functional | Remembers UI preferences such as volume settings within game widgets. | Local storage keys set by game widgets | Up to 12 months. Set only with consent. |
| Advertising / targeting | When you arrive via a paid Google Ads or Microsoft Advertising campaign, third-party advertising cookies may be set to measure ad effectiveness and support retargeting. | Google Ads (cookie policy), Microsoft Advertising (privacy statement) | Up to 13 months. Set only with consent. |
4. Lawful Basis (UK GDPR + PECR)
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), strictly necessary cookies may be set without consent on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a functional website. All other cookie categories — performance, functional, and advertising — are set only with your explicit consent, which you may withdraw at any time. Consent is collected via the cookie banner shown on your first visit to the site.
5. How to Manage Your Cookies on Leak No Meak
When you first visit the site, a banner offers two choices: "Accept all" (consents to all four categories) and "Essential only" (sets only strictly necessary cookies). Your choice is stored in localStorage.__cc_v1 in your browser. To change your choice later, clear that key using your browser's developer tools (Application → Local Storage → leaknomeak.com), or clear all site data and revisit — the banner will reappear.
6. How to Manage Cookies in Your Browser
You can also manage, block, or delete cookies directly in your browser settings:
Please note that blocking all cookies may affect site functionality — specifically, the age-gate confirmation and your cookie-consent preference will not persist between visits.
7. Third-Party Cookies and Services
The following third parties may set cookies or receive data when you use Leak No Meak (subject to your consent choices):
- Cloudflare — provides content delivery, security (DDoS protection), and privacy-respecting aggregate analytics. Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
- Google — Google Ads cookies may be set if you arrived via a paid Google Ads campaign and consent to advertising cookies. Google Cookie Policy.
- Microsoft — Microsoft Advertising cookies may be set if you arrived via a Microsoft Ads campaign and consent to advertising cookies. Microsoft Privacy Statement.
8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or extension sends a GPC header, we treat it as a withdrawal of consent for analytics and advertising cookies — only strictly necessary cookies will be set. We do not currently respond to the older DNT (Do Not Track) header, as it has no standardised legal meaning and has been superseded by GPC for practical purposes.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as our practices evolve or as legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We encourage you to check back periodically.
